Become the Hero of your Health and join us on a gentle walk in your local community to get moving in a safe and fun group setting. The walks are guided by us, NHS doctors thus on our tea break, you will gain practical tips on lifestyle practices and receive free coaching on how to implement these practices to serve your health goals.  All this over a stroll and shared hot or cold cup of tea sprinkled with loads of laughter and good times.

Who is Hero of Health Walks for? 

Hero of Health Walks allows everyone to get moving in a safe and fun community setting while sharing a cosy hot cup of tea! All fitness levels are welcome, no matter how long and how far you walked before.
 
The walks are guided by NHS Doctors, Board Certified in Lifestyle Medicine with a specialist interest in chronic disease prevention and reversal. Our aim is to make Lifestyle Medicine accessible to all so everyone feels empowered to transform their health.

The Heros Education Topics

During the educational chats and informal coaching, we translate the scientific evidence around chronic disease prevention and reversal into easy-to-digest bite-sized topics. We cover chronic diseases from the perspective of practical, actionable takeaways that you can start implementing in your life right away. The chronic diseases we teach how to prevent and reverse with lifestyle changes are: 

  • Fatty Liver Disease

  • Lifestyle Related Cancers

Is it free for all?

Find out if your local GP surgery delivers the walks in your area, and you will be able to self-refer free of charge. 

 

How long & how difficult are the walks?

The schedule:

- 10 mins meet and great. 

- 60 min stroll & chat on easy terrain.

Approximately 1 to 2 mile walk with stops at viewpoints.

Wheelchair & walking stick friendly. 

- 30 mins of stretching, sharing our wins and challenges, coupled with a new Lifestyle Medicine lesson of the week. 

If you are free after the walk, everyone can join 

 

What is the difficulty level?

​Easy terrain so everyone can join in the fun. Invite your family and friends of all walking levels. 

Suitable for: 

- wheelchair users

- buggies

- walking sticks

- no problem if you require regular stops along the way!
